Data sources and methodology

The site keeps plug compatibility, voltage, frequency and protective earth as separate checks. Current central data review: 1 August 2026.

Country data

Common plug types, nominal voltages and frequencies are stored centrally. Multiple values and regional variations are not collapsed into one misleading number.

Directed compatibility

Compatibility is directional. A Type A plug may be accepted by a Type B socket, but that does not make a Type B plug suitable for a Type A socket.

Device suitability

The country check can flag differences. The INPUT rating on the actual device decides whether voltage and frequency are supported.

Limits

Hotels, older buildings, ships and mixed sockets may differ from the usual national system. The site does not replace manufacturer approval or an electrical inspection.
