An adapter is required: Türkiye uses Types C and F, which does not accept plugs from the UK.
Sockets at the destination
Types C and F, 230 V, 50 Hz – those are the basics for electricity in Türkiye. No surprises on voltage: Türkiye runs at 230 V, the same range as at home in the UK.
Handy for multi-stop trips: Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Russia and Uzbekistan use the same plug types. Nearby but different: Hong Kong, Sri Lanka and Bahrain – an adapter for Türkiye will not fit there. In Asia, 17 of 50 recorded destinations use exactly this combination.
Protective earth
Türkiye has sockets with a protective earth (Type F) and without (Type C). A plug that fits mechanically does not guarantee earthing.
