Electricity in the Netherlands

Mains supply in the Netherlands: 230 V, 50 Hz, sockets of Types C and F. 230 V means no voltage converter – only the plug shape matters.

The same socket system is used in Kosovo, Montenegro, Austria and Türkiye, so one adapter covers all of them. Nearby but different: Malta, Cyprus and Ireland – an adapter for the Netherlands will not fit there. In Europe, 31 of 50 recorded destinations use exactly this combination.

Protective earth

Grounded and ungrounded sockets may occur

Not every socket in the Netherlands is earthed: Type F yes, Type C no. Class I appliances belong in an earthed outlet.
